Love and Value
Love and Value are two different things. Love is hot like the sun, but like the sun it can be cooled by clouds, by distance, or even a small rotational adjustment of a body.
Value though is deeper. Value is the about the goodness we see in someone, the respect we have for their talents and abilities, the importance we find in who a person is in the deepest parts of their Soul. It is easy for love to have highs and love, but when we really value someone, that is something that will slowly grow the more we know them and the more we see who they really are at the purest levels of their Creation.
The Comforter Comforts with Comfort
The God of all Comfort pt2
2 Corinthians 1:3-6 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. If we are distressed (afflicted), it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.”
Two versions of the word comfort are used in this passage. One is the Noun and one is the verb. The Noun is paraklesis and the verb is parakaleo, both of which are directly connected to the word jesus used to name the Holy Spirit, parakletos, the one whom God calls beside us to comfort us and turn our trials into triumphs. This Sunday we will explore how the Holy Spirit connects us to “The God of All Comfort”
